The National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT) established for this Friday, May 1st, Labor Day, a temporary restriction on the circulation of heavy-duty vehicles throughout the country.
The main objective of the resolution is to ensure road safety and free movement for citizens during the festivities scheduled for this long weekend.
The prohibition specifically applies to all those units with a capacity equal to or greater than 3,500 kilograms. According to the official schedule, the restriction will begin at 01:00 on Friday, May 01.
The limitation period will be extended continuously until the early morning of Monday, May 04, at which time traffic for this type of transport will be normalized.
This legal provision is based on compliance with Joint Resolution 083 and 022. These guidelines are supported by the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, in addition to the Ministry of People's Power for Transportation. Both entities previously published these regulations in Official Gazette No. 42,425 with the intention of reducing the risks of accidents in the country's trunk roads.
The official statement points out that there are specific exceptions for certain strategic sectors. Vehicles that carry essential products for the population, such as food, medicine or basic supplies, will be able to travel without problems.
The INTT reiterates its commitment to driver safety and urges citizens to take the necessary precautions in the face of these changes in road mobility.
