The National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT) temporarily suspended the passage of cargo vehicles weighing 3,500 kilograms or more throughout the country, in connection with the commemoration of the Day of Indigenous Resistance.
The measure will begin at 1:00 a.m. this Sunday, October 11 and will end at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13.
The ordinance applies in compliance with the joint resolution published in the Official Gazette No. 42,425 dated July 25, 2022, the legal framework that governs the transportation of heavy cargo on Sundays and holidays.
The public body announced the exemption from this impediment for units focused on the transfer of priority items. The permitted sectors include medical supplies, medicines, food, basic necessities, fuel and strategic material for basic services.
The transport authorities urged drivers, companies and unions to take operational forecasts in the face of the holidays. The preventive measure seeks to avoid road delays and protect public safety on the roads.
