Last Sunday, the Foreign Minister of Oman, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, reported that the new round of indirect nuclear talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States (USA) is scheduled for February 26 in the Swiss city of Geneva.
“I am pleased to confirm that negotiations between the United States and Iran are now scheduled for this Thursday in Geneva, with a positive impetus to move further towards finalizing the agreement,” he said through his account on the social network X.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqch i commented that the third round of indirect negotiations with Washington would take place next Thursday.
“We can reach an understanding on fundamental principles and issues, and guarantee that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful and will remain so forever, while sanctions are lifted,” Araqhi said, according to information reported in Último Noticias.
On February 6, the first round of indirect dialogue between Tehran and Washington on the nuclear issue was held in Muscat, capital of Oman. The second day of indirect talks was held on February 17 in Geneva, with the mediation of Oman, where they reached an understanding on key principles.
The Iranian Foreign Minister added that at that time new ideas were presented and there were significant advances compared to the previous session, but he acknowledged that differences continue that need time to bring positions closer together.
