The Iranian Parliament approved legislation that categorically prohibits the use of Starlink satellite internet on national territory, establishing prison sentences of up to 10 years for those who market or use the service owned by Elon Musk.
The legislative measure responds directly to the confirmed instrumentation of the system during Israel's recent bombings against the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This ban comes after the Israeli bombings of June 13 against Iranian territory, where Starlink systems were used strategically to cause deliberate failures in the national internet network during military attacks.
This simultaneous activation of the blackout imposed by Tehran during the crisis evidences coordination between Western technology corporations and military operations against Iran.
