Iran creates Defense Council to reinforce military readiness

The Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran approved the creation of the National Defense Council, which will be aimed at coordinating strategic plans and strengthening the country's military readiness.
The Council's main mission of the highest Iranian security body will be to study defense plans and improve the capabilities of the country's armed forces to respond to future threats.
The new body will be chaired by President Masoud Pezeshkian and will be composed of the heads of the three branches of power, commanders of the Armed Forces and some related ministries.
According to Telesur, the Secretariat specified that the organization is an unprecedented institution in the Iranian defense system and will begin operating in the coming days.
