Iran: Day of reflection began before the presidential election

In the Islamic Republic of Iran, citizens have this Thursday to reflect on the government projections presented by the candidates, after the electoral campaigns of Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, Masud Pezeshkian, Said Yalili and Mostafa Purmohamadi ended.

According to the Minister of Interior, Ahmad Vahidi, as of this moment, it is forbidden to carry out advertising or electoral propaganda by candidates and their followers, in real and virtual space, within 24 hours before the start of the elections.

The Council of Guardians of Iran endorsed six presidential candidates among the 80 candidates who registered, but during the last few hours the mayor of Tehran, Alireza Zakani, and Vice President Amirhosein Qazizade Hashemi withdrew from the election.
