The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that it will not accept preconditions in negotiations with the United States (US) and will not sign a “provisional” agreement on its nuclear program.

“It is natural that no negotiation initiated under the weight of imposed conditions and prejudices can lead to a satisfactory result,” said the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baqai, during a press conference on Monday.

He also stated that dialogues can bear fruit, if both parties act with “good faith and seriousness”. He also stated that his nation “is determined and serious” in continuing diplomacy with the United States.

“Therefore, with firmness and based on the solidity of the foundations of our demands, both in the nuclear field and in the lifting of sanctions, we will continue this process, as long as we consider that it can lead to a result,” adds the diplomat.
