The Foreign Minister of Iran, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, announced in an interview with NBC News that he will visit the Russian capital, Moscow, next Monday to meet with the country's president, Vladimir Putin.
However, there are no details yet on this possible meeting. Nor have they spoken out from Moscow on the matter.
Quoted by the RT web portal, the Russian president stated that his country defends Iran's right to develop peaceful nuclear energy technologies, since these are its “legitimate interests”.
“We support Iran in its fight for its legitimate interests, including the fight for its interests in peaceful nuclear energy. And we have always maintained this position,” said the Russian president. “We defend Iran's right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, and not just with words, but with deeds,” he stressed.
