The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Larijani, is convinced that the United States (USA) rejected the military script in the case of his country.

Washington came to understand that it must follow another course in relation to Iran and abandon the idea of a military solution,” Larijani said in an interview with Al Jazeera television this Wednesday.

On February 6, the United States and Iran resumed indirect negotiations in Oman, which had not taken place since May 2025 and after the US bombing of Iran's civilian nuclear facilities in June.

Between April and May 2025, Washington and Tehran held five rounds of indirect consultations in Oman and Italy, and in June, the United States bombed several Iranian nuclear facilities that were under the protection of the International Atomic Energy Organization.

Last year, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, gave the order to attack Iran, despite the fact that days earlier US intelligence had concluded that the Persian country was not seeking to develop nuclear weapons, according to US television. Iran in retaliation struck a Washington military base located in Qatar.

The American attack was condemned by Russia, China and other nations in the international community.
