The Sectorial Vice President of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Isabel Iturria, asserted that the goal of the Bolivarian Government is to achieve 95% of the 22 prioritized parishes in four states where the focus of yellow fever circulates.

“There are currently 22 parishes prioritized as runners of the monkey yellow fever virus in the states of Lara, Barinas, Portuguesa and Aragua, where 34 cases have been detected since June of last year, so we are strengthening the vaccination process, especially those who have never been vaccinated against yellow fever, who are between 1 and 59 years old, to go to health centers in their localities to participate in this immunization process,” he said.

The government official also reported that 244 cases of hemodynamics have been treated so far this year, and she also announced that 146 pacemakers have been implanted and the process of ophthalmic surgery has begun.

“Work is being done to strengthen the national public health system and ensure timely access to highly complex treatments,” Iturra emphasized during an interview with Venezolana de Televisión.

He also recalled that in the year 2025, the highest number of pediatric surgeries in the history of the country were performed. However, by 2026, if the constant flow of supplies is maintained, the goal is to achieve 900 pediatric cardiovascular interventions.
