The shipping company MSC Cruises included Margarita Island in its international catalog of destinations, also incorporating local excursions into its platform, which positions the so-called “Pearl of the Caribbean” within a route network that covers more than 100 countries and 300 destinations.

According to information from the Ministry of Tourism, the president of the Nueva Esparta Chamber of Tourism, Antonio De Abreu, described the announcement as positive and noted that the cruise ship is expected to arrive in the coming months or at the latest next year.

Currently, the shipping company's offer highlights the biodiversity of the Macanao Peninsula and the Laguna de la Restinga National Park, a renowned natural sanctuary, ideal for birdwatching and seahorses. Other points of interest include the San Carlos Borromeo Castle and the emblematic beaches El Agua, Manzanillo and El Yaque.

The presence of this destination on the company's platform represents an advance in the international projection of Venezuelan tourism, as it is integrated into the offer of one of the main cruise lines in the world.
