The candidate of the Historical Pact, Iván Cepeda, is at the head of the presidential vote intention in Colombia this month of May, registering a technical tie with Abelardo de la Espriella. This growth in his candidacy, consolidated at the national level, responds to his close synchrony with the programs of the current Government and to the recent reduction in poverty figures, factors that have strengthened his popular acceptance.

The rest of the candidates show a marked distance from Cepeda, showing less support among the electorate. Sergio Fajardo registered 2.6%, while Claudia López reached 1.0%. For their part, figures such as Roy Barreras and Miguel Uribe Londoño rank at 0.4%, reflecting a significant fragmentation in the political forces competing against the leading candidate.

Other candidates have even more limited support in current polls. Santiago Botero has 0.3% support, Carlos Eduardo Caicedo obtains 0.2%, and a list of candidates that includes names such as Luis Gilberto Murillo, Óscar Mauricio Lizcano and Sondra MaCollins Garvin, remains at just 0.1%.

The electoral landscape closes with 3.4% of citizens who choose to vote blank, while 2.1% do not know or did not respond to the consultation. These final figures will be decisive in defining the course of the election, especially given the need to tip the balance in the technical tie between the candidate of the Historical Pact.
