IVIC opens call for postgraduate studies in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine

The Center for Advanced Studies of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) opened the call for postgraduate studies in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, to be held in March 2026.

This call is aimed at professionals in: medicine, biology, bioanalysis, pharmacy, biotechnology, veterinary medicine, chemistry, biomedical engineering, areas related to biomedicine and health sciences.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), the lines of research in Stem Cell Biology include: Stem Cell Niches, Biology of Mesenchymal Stromal Stem Cells, Generation of Stem Cells in Vitro, Regeneration of Organs and Tissues, as well as Generation of organoids.

On the other hand, with regard to clinical applications of stem cells and the development of preclinical models of tissue regeneration, they are oriented towards: musculoskeletal regeneration (bone-cartilage); skin regeneration; regeneration in dentistry (periodontics and endodontics); regeneration of eye tissues and regeneration of the nervous system.

While in the biology of hematopoiesis, the lines focus on: development of the hematopoietic system, study of hematopoietic niches, endothelial cell biology (endothelial microenvironments that promote proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells).
