Jorge Arreaza: To date there have been 2,000 full liberties and 177 releases

Deputy Jorge Arreaza, president of the Special Commission of the National Assembly (AN) for the Law of Amnesty and Democratic Coexistence, this Monday, February 23, presented the balance sheet of the implementation of this legal instrument to date.
From the Miraflores Palace, where the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, received the victims of political violence, Arreaza emphasized that the central objective of the legislation is to eradicate polarization and consolidate national peace.
He noted that the figures that have resulted from the application of the law, through the Venezuelan courts, highlighting that the pacification process is still ongoing.
In this regard, he specified that to date, 177 direct releases have been made; 2,021 full liberties for citizens who were under the filing regime and more than 3,000 new requests in the technical evaluation phase.
He also indicated that in total there are 800 cumulative releases and 2,735 alternative measures of filing with precautionary measures processed to date under this legal framework.
Arreaza reiterated that the spirit of the regulation is not oblivion, but rather the creation of conditions so that “Venezuela does not return to confrontation”.
He reaffirmed that this initiative demonstrates the political will of the Executive to advance national union and the defense of sovereignty.
