The president of the Legislative Branch, Jorge Rodríguez, reported that “as an expression of recognition of the work carried out by the Venezuelan Red Cross, the deputies of the National Assembly (AN), we will soon approve an important legal framework to protect those who go in silence and, often, without recognition, helping those who suffer.”

This was stated in reference to the Venezuelan Red Cross Bill, which is under public consultation after its approval in the first discussion. The AN plans to discuss these regulations in a regular session to be held this Wednesday, February 25.

Through his Instagram account, Rodríguez published a brief audiovisual material summarizing some statements made by important representatives of the International Red Cross (CRI) and the institution in Venezuela, who confirmed their support for this new legislative instrument.

Among these personalities, there is the coordinator of programs of the International Red Cross in the country, Carole Pitett, who considers this law to be very important for the protection of the Red Cross's mandate in the country.

For his part, the head of the CRI Delegation for Venezuela, Nelson Aly, explained that the regulations give important support to the components of the movement to continue supporting the nation.

The president of the Venezuelan Red Cross, Luis Manuel Farías, expressed the honor of receiving the AN initiative. “This law is not a law for the Red Cross, it's for Venezuelans,” he said.
