The president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Jorge Rodrígu ez (PSUV/National), indicated that he will insist on seeking agreements, dialogue and communication bridges to strengthen democratic coexistence.

This was stated during the debate on the agreement to support the National Consultation on Criminal Justice Reform, promoted by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, to collect proposals that strengthen the Venezuelan judicial system.

The parliamentarian questioned whether there are political sectors in the country that maintain a forgiving attitude, which do so much damage to the country's social life.

“This means that every time there is an initiative to promote coexistence, strengthen democracy and seek agreements with political sectors; we are going to encounter a certain attitude of forgiving,” Rodríguez said.

He added that it seems that each initiative is used to find a way to please a minority sector of the country's political life, “which will never be liked, because they hate both you and us, because you are extremists,” he stressed.

The highest representative of the Legislature urged parliamentarians to abandon the attitude of forgiving aside life, to look for ways to assume common commitments and positions, and to express it to Parliament if they do not agree.

The deputy reminded extremist sectors of the consequences of the guarimbas in 2014, which cost 43 lives of Venezuelans between opponents and Chavistas.

“People who were passing by. Nobody is going to return Orlando Figuera to his mother, and there were sectors of political life in this country that applauded, extolled and enjoyed that corner of Altamira where a human being was burned alive,” said the parliamentarian.

In this regard, he stressed that, after the approval of the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence, more than 12 thousand people applied to be protected by this legal instrument and that nearly 9 thousand people have benefited.

“We have swallowed quite a few frogs by approving this Amnesty Law and condemning a series of crimes and acts of violence that came from a sector of political life in this country,” Rodríguez said after reiterating his call to abandon the forgiving attitude and work for a common goal.
