The president of
the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, said this Friday that all the proposed
dates for the holding of the presidential elections were
incorporated into the document derived from the National Dialogue days to
define the electoral calendar.
During the ceremony of
delivering the historic document to the CNE, Rodríguez reiterated that it is this body
responsible for announcing the date of the elections. “Here we bring you 27
proposals for dates from everyone and everyone, there were people who proposed to make them in
April, in March, in May (...) and they were all included in this proposal for
consideration by the CNE,” he said.
“
We hope, with all humility, that you (CNE) will attend to and evaluate this document,
which we do not hesitate to classify as historical, that you can review, based on
your prerogatives and functions, what is contained in this document and that you will put it on the table so
that the electoral party can be activated,” said Rodríguez.
The President of the
Parliament pointed out that the electoral schedule is necessary “for a people,
like ours, who like to vote, who like to choose, who like to
make decisions, who cannot stand others trying to impose decisions that do not pass through popular scrutiny, to go to the voting machines en
masse and elect
the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the period 2025-2030.”
He stressed that already on
the street you can feel that this is an election year and that “against all odds and
against every doomsday voice, as the people of Venezuela always do, they will choose
their President or their President and the voting machines will tell the only
truth that we can respect the voice of the people, the voice of God.”
