The president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, this Thursday, January 29, stressed that the approval in the second discussion of the Bill for the Partial Reform of the Organic Hydrocarbons Law, was carried out in absolute compliance with the principles of sovereignty and independence established in the National Constitution.
“The main objective of this law is for us to stop saying that we are the main reserve to start saying that we are the main oil producers on this planet,” he emphasized.
This was stated at the end of the regular session, in statements to the media in the spaces of the Federal Legislative Palace, where he noted that the ownership that the Republic of Venezuela has over its oil fields and natural resources was also respected.
He stressed that these are mechanisms that have proven to be very successful, “such as productive contracts, the so-called CPP, are mechanisms that have allowed oil production to close in December of last year at 1,200,000 barrels of oil.”
He also maintained that the unanimous approval of the aforementioned law was achieved, which “will make it much more competitive to hire domestic or foreign companies for the exploitation of this resource found in the planet's great reserves.”
“This is the framework that will allow the definitive takeoff of oil production and the prosperity of the Venezuelan people,” he said.
