The designated Chief for Dialogues and Peace of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez, at a press conference, assured that what is “happening in El Salvador with Venezuelans is nothing more than a vulgar kidnapping.”

The president of the National Assembly (AN) also specified that none of the Venezuelans taken to El Salvador have committed crimes in that territory or in the United States, so he explained that “they have been denied the right to due process, they have been denied the possibility of even speaking before a judge to defend themselves.”

He also assured that this kidnapping has “an eminently economic purpose, just like those European, English and Portuguese barbarians who brought inhabitants of the African continent to the American continent in order to sell them; that is Bukele's only motivation there”.

Rodríguez's statement is based on a publication by the Salvadoran president, Nayib Bukele, in which he states that the detainees “participate in various workshops that will contribute to the sustainability of our prison system, which currently costs 250 million dollars”, adding that “6,000 dollars per head, the United States is paying Bukele, the new slaver.”
