The Tokyo 2020 Olympic medalist, Julio Mayora, revalidated his title in the 79 kg division of the senior category in the National Weightlifting Championship “Governor Alejandro Terán Cup”.

In the sports tournament being held on the peace and life court in Playa Grande, La Guaira state, according to the press of the Ministry for Sports, the athlete offered another example of his power on the platform to gain an unattainable advantage. Behind him was Jesús Álvarez, who was credited with the silver medal in the senior category, but he did win gold in the under-23 with a lift of 140 kg at the start and 165 kg in the storm, in which he totaled 305 kg, while the bronze was won by Yordi Rivero with 290 kg.

Diana Bellorín from Sucrense won the gold medal, she dominated the -63 kg category, lifting 91 kg at the start and 108 kg at the start, for a total of 199 kg. The podium in this division was completed by Roheli García, who reached 184 kg in total, and Leonela Chirino finished in third position with one kilo less than García.

Meanwhile, Claudia Rengifo shone in the under-23 as well as in the senior. The representative of the coastal entity dazzled with 100 kilos at the start and then increased 26 kilos in the shipment to 226 in total. With 181 kg, Falconi's Angela Hernández took second place and third place went to Dariannys Fernández from Sucrense, with a total of 173 kg.

Finally, the division of the day was the women's -77 kg, where the woman from Apurea, Lidysmar Aparicio, was proclaimed champion with 219 kg. The silver was won by Keily Silva, who with her 217 kg was crowned in the under-23 category, and Franyoleth Navarro (204 kg) was the third.
