This Tuesday, the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, reported that Expo AgroAlba 2025 will take place in Caracas on June 6 and 7 and its strategic objective is to consolidate joint food production; it will also show the productive potential of the member countries of the integrationist entity.

The foreign minister announced that the initiative that emerged during the Presidential Summit of 2024, where the presidents instructed its formation, “begins with strength with all the countries of Alba and beyond to produce, invest and generate a shield of security and food sovereignty, for ALBA, the Caribbean and the Latin American region.”

“We are prepared to turn Venezuela into a major production hub within ALBA and we have other countries with the capacity to export, all countries have capacities in infrastructure, personnel and knowledge training in science and technology with regard to food production,” he said.

He also added that with the tariffs imposed by the United States (USA), the alliance is taking the lead with this initiative. “We have signed several agreements with alliance countries as well as, in addition to countries that have joined this initiative, what is generating a business model to strengthen the alliance's economy; it is to revolutionize our supply system and turn ALBA into a powerful scheme for the production of food, from textile sectors”.

“We are going to turn the peoples of ALBA into a powerful food production scheme, for non-food items such as textiles and in addition to that, we have worked on an initiative proposed to us by the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, which is the blue ALBA,” stressed the head of diplomacy.
