With the objective of promoting the use of digital tools for the creation and dissemination of literary content, the La Dolorita Public Library, in Petare, began the workshop “Electronic Book. Create an e-book”, aimed at training in self-publishing and digital publishing.

The activity brought together 18 members of the community, who received training on the processes of layout and publication of texts in electronic formats. The training was led by Eleazar Jiménez, researcher and specialist of the Book Platform of the Miranda Cultural Cabinet, according to a note from the Ministry for Culture.

During the day, Jiménez highlighted the importance of communities taking ownership of these technological tools to promote the creation and dissemination of their own content. In addition, he noted that the initiative seeks to strengthen the capacity of citizens to become producers of literary and knowledge works.

“We want Miranda to enhance her creative capacities through digital publishing, allowing local knowledge and literature to be disseminated without barriers,” said the specialist, stressing that these tools contribute to preserving cultural identity and historical memory.

The workshop is part of a joint action between the Miranda Cultural Cabinet and the state's Autonomous Institute of Library and Information Services (IABIM), with the purpose of promoting reading, writing and access to new forms of publication in communities.
