La Guaira and Iran sign economic alliance to manufacture optical fiber

From the Sucre Hall of the Guipuzkoana House, the formal signing of the economic alliance between the Special Economic Zone of La Guaira and the Iranian company Development of Modern Data Centers (MDC), a fiber optic manufacturer that will operate from the Center for Industry, Technology and Innovation of La Guaira, took place.
De according to the information issued by the Government, this alliance is part of the implementation of the letters of intent signed in 2024 between the Iranian company, the National Anonymous Telephone Company of Venezuela (Cantv) and the Socialist Telecommunications Corporation and Postal Services C.A. (Corpostel) within the framework of the II International Telecommunications Fair of Venezuela (Fitelven).
El Governor, José Alejandro Terán, expressed his “commitment to make this alliance stronger and that we can consolidate that win-win that will allow us to achieve mutual success, because we truly dream that optical fiber manufactured in this land and with local labor will be exported from the Port of La Guaira to the markets of South America, Central America and the Caribbean”.
Asimismo, Terán assured that this alliance will guarantee new and important sources of employment for the state and that it will allow La Guaira to provide an important contribution to the country's economic development, one of President Nicolás Maduro's fundamental objectives for the recovery and diversification of the Venezuelan economy.
En In this regard, the Single Authority of the Special Economic Zone, Marcos Meléndez, added that over the next few hours a ship with five containers with two production lines is expected to arrive in La Guaira to begin work inside this allied factory.
