The state of La Guaira kicked off the
commemorative agenda for Women's Month, with an afternoon full of music, dance and patriotic
commitment, in Plaza Vargas, where the “Women's Cultural Encounter” brought together local talent to vindicate the historical and spiritual struggles of Venezuelan
women.
According to information from Venezolana de
Televisión, through various artistic manifestations such as poetry and
theater, Guaireña women raised their voices to tell the stories of the nation's
heroines and integrated these presentations into the Historical Route of La Guaira.
“We meet to kick off this
month as emblematic as Women's Month, where we reaffirm our
political, spiritual and historical struggle. When President Nicolás Maduro told us
that this is the year of the struggle and the admirable campaign, the admirable challenge of women, and we
women took up that challenge,” said the sole authority of
women in the state, Andrea Solórzano.
In turn, the cultivator, Yosmil Rosa, commented
on her satisfaction with the execution of the activity. “We are very happy today,
because we have a cultural meeting of women for women, we are heroes,
empowered, who have given everything for this country and we have built it from the ground up,”
she said.
