The Government of Lebanon denounced that the recent military aggressions by the Zionist State of Israel represent a direct threat to diplomatic initiatives that seek to stabilize the cessation of hostilities between the two nations. Beirut warned that these actions by Tel Aviv erode the trust necessary to maintain the ceasefire reached last April.

The Lebanese authorities described as a flagrant violation of international law the bombings recorded in the south of the country, which have affected Civil Defense personnel. This increase in military tension occurs at a critical moment, just before direct dialogue tables resume to seek a sustainable solution to the conflict.

Lebanon reaffirmed its commitment to working hand in hand with international actors to stop constant incursions and ensure the protection of its territorial sovereignty. The main objective of the Lebanese administration is to achieve the total withdrawal of foreign troops from the occupied areas to ensure peace in the region.

Despite the reported provocations, the diplomatic meeting in Washington scheduled for this week is still on the agenda. At this meeting, delegations will try to consolidate the terms of the truce and establish mechanisms to prevent new clashes that jeopardize the security of the civilian population at the border.
