The Alejandro Otero Museum inaugurated the exhibition
“Alejandro Otero Documentary”, an exhibition that pays homage to one of the
greatest exponents of Venezuelan kinetic art.
The
proposal brings together emblematic works and documentary material that allows us
to approach the integral dimension of Alejandro
Otero, highlighting his legacy in geometric abstraction,
critical thinking and his commitment to artistic modernity, according to the Ministry for Culture.
Through pieces from the museum's collection and archives of the Alejandro Otero
Documentation Center, the exhibition covers key stages in his
career, from the series “The Coffee Makers” to the “Coloritmos”, in addition to
his role as an essayist and cultural promoter.
The
director of the venue, Efraín Rojas, pointed out
that the exhibition allows the public to learn not only about the artist's work, but
also fundamental aspects of his life and creative process.
“This exhibition shows a
documentary of Alejandro Otero's work. In addition, you will be able to find
documents that reflect the life of the Master (...) with this exhibition we wanted
to make available to the public not only the work itself, but also to have the opportunity to
consult an important journey in the life of Alejandro Otero,” he said.
In the curatorial field,
Richard Aranguren was responsible for managing the exhibition project.
“By observing sketches, finished works, photographs and reflections by the author himself and
the critic, we glimpse part of the true dimension of
Otero, committed to that incessant search to understand the order of the universe
and his responsibility as an artist in the face of history,” he said.
The exhibition invites visitors to explore Otero's legacy through documents, photographs and works that reveal his constant aesthetic search and influence on contemporary Venezuelan art.
