Venezuelan Marcos Blanco won the gold medal in the World Adapted Judo Championship of the IBSA (International Federation of Sports for the Blind) that takes place in Kazakhstan

Blanco beat the 2024 Paris Paralympic champion Abdelkader Bouamer, and won the highest honors in the -64 kilos J1 section.

The Venezuelan sealed his victory with 11 seconds left before the end of combat time with an immobilization that lasted 12 seconds to take the victory by Ippon.

With this resounding achievement, Blanco began his fourth Olympic cycle in a good way ahead of the Los Angeles Paralympic Games.
