Medical staff at Jesús Yerena Hospital performs corneal transplant on an elderly patient

The medical staff of the Jesús Yerena Hospital, located in the city of Caracas, successfully performed a corneal transplant on a 75-year-old patient, who had a complex eye condition.
The patient suffered from a condition called Pseudophachial Bullous Keratopathy, which severely compromised her visual capacity. According to information provided by the Ministry of People's Power for Health, the procedure allowed the beneficiary to receive the tissue necessary for her recovery.
This medical achievement was achieved following the request made by the patient through the VenApp platform, linked to the 1x10 system of Good Governance. The technological tool made it easier to channel the case for immediate care in the capital's healthcare center.
The hospital's team of specialists guaranteed compliance with the necessary protocols for this type of ophthalmic surgery. With this intervention, health authorities reaffirm their commitment to providing high-level care to the Venezuelan population.
