This Wednesday, the productive sectors of the state of Mérida accompanied by the Governor of the entity Arnaldo Javier Sánchez Pérez staged a civil and institutional mobilization with the objective of consolidating strategic alliances that promote the local and national economy. The meeting, which brought together business associations, agricultural producers and the academy, seeks to unify efforts around a sustainable development plan that will turn the Andean region into a pole of economic power for the country.

“To strengthen production, the most beautiful thing we must highlight is that we are all together. Today we sat down with the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Tourism, Fedechambers and the professors of the Universidad de los Andes (ULA) to work as a team, the family of the people of Merida, in order to turn Mérida and Venezuela into a power,” said the governor of the entity.

During the activity, the fundamental role of the ULA, recently recognized as one of the best university institutions in Venezuela, was highlighted as a key actor in the planning and technical advice of the productive apparatus.

In addition, the regional president emphasized that the articulation between the public sector, private enterprise and popular power is the main engine for comprehensively reactivating commercial and tourist infrastructure, also coinciding with the historic commemoration of the Admirable Campaign.

“We have a clear objective. You sit with the Chamber of Tourism, with the Chamber of Commerce, with our producers or with our people, and the objective is the same: to transform our region. For this reason, we appreciate this support. There are our deputies working to get the whole team active; we are going to continue, as Liberator Simón Bolívar taught us, united as one people,” concluded Sánchez Pérez.
