In order to optimize the operating speed of the Los Teques Metro system, a comprehensive technical plan was implemented that began in April to replace 168.05 meters of rails. This intervention was carried out on road 2 of Line 1, on the route between Las Adjuntas and Ayacucho station.
The replacement was specifically carried out in the Carrizalito and Corral de Piedra tunnels. At these points, the maneuvers ended after the installation of the last 62 meters of track in the Carrizalito tunnel.
The work involved the participation of 25 experts in railways and signage, who also installed 414 fixings and 151 ribbed soles. These spare parts are key for the system to have greater stability, less vibration and greater safety for thousands of users. With this work, the railway system restores 80% of the speed in the intervened area. This improvement significantly reduces waiting times for passengers on platforms.
