The Government of Mexico agreed with the 32 states to unify the criteria for assistance to address the measles epidemic and to strengthen operational coordination across the country, President Claudia Sheinbaum reported.
Health authorities will promote the vaccination of children and adults with incomplete schedules, in addition to applying targeted surveillance in the six entities with the highest number of cases, in order to limit the transmission of the virus.
During a virtual meeting with governors and federal officials of the sector, the appointment of a reference was established for each entity in order to accelerate the distribution of biological products and follow up on the actions envisaged in the national strategy.
Sheinbaum stressed that, starting next week, an information campaign will be developed in schools to guide the population on the importance of vaccination and preventive measures against the epidemic.
