This Wednesday, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced that his country will not participate in the meeting of the Organization of American States (OAS) whose main theme will be the Venezuelan electoral process of last Sunday, July 28, which won Nicolás Maduro with 51.20%.
López Obrador explained that the reason for this decision is that he does not agree with the institution's partial position.
“We are not going to participate because we don't agree with the biased attitude of the OAS. Before knowing the results, Mr. Almagro had already recognized one of the candidates without proof of anything. So why are we going to such a meeting?” , López Obrador said during a press conference.
In this regard, he added that this meeting has no serious characteristics and described it as “irresponsible”, and it does not help to seek “a peaceful, democratic solution to a conflict in a country,” he said.
