The far-right Government of Javier Milei, in Argentina, through Resolution 34/25, ordered the creation of a register that will identify all the union representatives who are voted to defend labor rights, a measure that will allow the State to control workers and which labor organizations denounce as a mechanism of persecution.
The State Workers Association (ATE) announced that it will file a lawsuit to stop the implementation of this measure, which coincides with the process of electing new delegates.
Rodolfo Aguiar, general secretary of the ATE, denounced that the Government of Milei “seeks to reduce union representation with an illegal registration to impose ministerial policies without resistance. It's a desperate search so that there aren't so many men and women stopping the chainsaw.”
