The Ministry of Popular Water Power (MINAGUAS) successfully activated a deep well in the indigenous community La Reforma, belonging to the Jivi people, located on the south-east highway axis of Puerto Ayacucho, within the Umuna Wayada Commune.
This water project consolidates the attention of the original inhabitants of the area, who now have a stable supply of drinking water thanks to the implementation of sustainable technologies with low environmental impact, details a press release from the ministry.
For the start-up, the technical staff and the People's Power installed a 2 HP submersible pump and a 2-inch discharge column, incorporating a flow rate of 3.47 liters per second. The system works autonomously using a photovoltaic station with 8 solar panels, without depending on the traditional electrical grid.
In addition, with the purpose of ensuring the well-being of the population, physico-chemical and bacteriological analyses were carried out on the underground source, yielding optimal results that certify the quality, purity and drinkability of the resource for human consumption.
The project contemplated the comprehensive recovery of a 100,000 liter raised tank to maintain pressure and the optimization of the community distribution network with 300 meters of 75-millimeter HDPE pipes.
