This Friday, the Quimbiotec program goes to school at the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT). It completed its cycle in Miranda state, sensitizing more than 3,500 children and adolescents from 22 technical and science schools about the importance of scientific and technological knowledge.
The actions are framed in the Territorial Scientific Seed Plan and are aligned with the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Popular Power for Health (MPPS) and the strengthening of the National Public Health System (SPNS), by sensitizing new generations with educational talks on blood, its components, the production of blood products and the importance of altruistic donation, achieving a direct approach with students.
This territorial deployment covered areas of Miranda; Altos Mirandinos (San Antonio de los Altos, Guaicaipura and Carrizal), Metropolitan Axis (Petare and Mariche) and the Barlovento Axis (Higuerote and Rio Chico), according to a press release.
The talks in the “Science for Production” room were complemented by interventions from other institutions such as the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IDEA), addressing topics such as marine biology and ecology, botany, anthropology, mathematics and research, among others.
