Minister Cabello announces new seizures of cocaine in Zulia to add up to more than 9 tons

The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, announced this Saturday the discovery of three drug trafficking coves in the state of Zulia linked to the extreme right, to add up to a seizure of more than 9 tons of high-purity cocaine.

At a press conference, at which he presented advances in Operation Catatumbo Lightning in the western entity, Cabello indicated that during research and intelligence work, after the seizure of more than 5 tons of cocaine last week, a first cove was located, in which more than 600 kilos of the drug were seized.

“When we start arresting people, the mayors, their police structures, we start to question, they start talking. And we're behind the coves. In that search for the coves, we immediately made a second seizure of 600 kg of cocaine in the area,” he said.

In a second proceeding, the Minister of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace pointed out that the criminals impregnated the asphalt mantle with liquid cocaine. 1240 kg of high-purity cocaine were located there. “This is to add it up, so that they can see the impact of the blow that has been given to drug trafficking,” he said.

Finally, Cabello reported that 2619 kilos of drugs were seized in a third cove. “All this together gives no more and no less than 9866 kilos of drugs with 30 grams, cocaine of the highest purity. Of course, the opposing sectors must be angry. Of course they must be felt,” he emphasized.
