Minister Ceballos: The crime of homicide in Venezuela decreased 28.4% compared to 2023 (+OVS)

The crime of homicide in Venezuela decreased by 28.4% compared to 2023, according to data from the Venezuelan Observatory for Citizen Security (OVS), reported the Sectorial Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, AJ. Remigio Ceballos Ichaso.

During the meeting of the Ministerial Security Council, Ceballos Ichaso emphasized that this reduction was achieved thanks to preventive action by citizen security bodies.

During the working day, the development of plans and programs in the area of prevention, the fight against organized crime and the strengthening of citizen security bodies was also evaluated.

In this regard, the Admiral in Chief ordered maximum patrols and immediate action against those who intend to disturb the homeland by committing crimes such as kidnapping, extortion or theft, MPPRIJP press reports.

He also explained that a deployment of the National Risk Management System will be carried out, to avoid situations during the rainy season, and constant monitoring will be maintained by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH), for the development of the corresponding early alerts.
