The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, held a meeting with the Military Scientific Council, in order to build a road map to strengthen the country's defense.
Jiménez emphasized that this strategic meeting is being held following the guidelines of the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez with the clear objective of consolidating the roadmap of the National Center for Defense and Cyber Security, according to a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Science and Technology.
The Minister explained that the meeting evaluated the capabilities of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), as well as its operational capacity.
“At this historic juncture, the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation is taking a step forward; we assume with rigor and commitment the comprehensive defense of the Nation,” he said.
Jiménez reiterated the scientific community's commitment to the Homeland, focused on providing people with computer security and stability.
“With knowledge and innovation, we will guarantee the protection of our technological infrastructure, the computer security and the stability that our people deserve. Science is our weapon for peace and definitive independence!” , he added.
The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the creation of the National Center for Defense and Cyber Security, which will be led by Gabriela Jiménez and whose purpose will be to develop the necessary mechanisms for the defense of cyberspace.
