The People's Power Minister for Foreign Trade, Johann Álvarez, highlighted that Venezuela's non-oil exports registered a growth of approximately 32% during the first quarter of 2026.
During the program Facing the News, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he reiterated that, according to information released by the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT) during the first quarter of 2026, export growth was 32%, compared to the same period in 2025, a significant figure, considering the season, so he estimates that the level of growth will be higher towards the end of the year.
He assured that the biggest increase is represented by the export of ferrous material as raw material, which, according to the minister, speaks of the recovery of basic industries in this productive sector of the country.
The also president of the Venezuelan Export Promotion Agency (VENEXPORTA), pointed out that this agency's main function is to promote exports from Venezuela, as well as to give impetus to domestic producers and increase production capacities thanks to timely advice on how the process is.
On the other hand, he specified that among the sectors that registered the highest growth in the first quarter of 2026, those linked to the iron sector and ferrous materials stand out.
He also said that this progress reflects the good work being done by the Venezuelan Corporation of Guiana (CVG) and the Minister of Popular Power and Ecological Mining Development, Héctor Silva, in the recovery of the primary industry.
In addition, he highlighted that Venezuela is not only exporting raw materials, but also products with added value, such as rods, tubes and other industrial forms, which contribute to generating greater wealth for the country.
