The Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Ricardo Molina, reported on his participation in the Ministerial Preparatory Meeting of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which takes place on October 13 and 14, 2025, in the city of Brasilia in Brazil.
Through his account on the social network Telegram, he specified that “there we highlight that one of our flags is climate justice, because the current climate crisis driven by capitalism disproportionately affects developing countries”.
He stated that while the richest country on the planet “generates almost half of greenhouse gas emissions, it is the countries of the south that suffer the most devastating impacts, such as hurricanes, droughts, fires and economic losses that exceeded 300 billion dollars in 2024 alone,” he emphasized.
In addition, Molina stressed that the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Venezuela by the United States, “have had a negative impact, not only on the environmental efforts being made, but also on the fossil fuel markets, including oil and natural gas, which continue to be essential resources for the development of many nations.”
