In a strategic move to boost non-oil exports, the Minister of Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy, held a productive day of work this Friday with Governor Freddy Bernal and a large representation of more than 70 businessmen from the Andean productive sector.
“This year of 'Admirable Challenge' we will give an unprecedented boost to non-oil exports,” said Minister Godoy, highlighting the business sector as a fundamental ally for the country's economic development.
During the meeting at the Governor's Residence in the city of San Cristóbal, the regional president formally handed over to Minister Godoy the diagnosis of the exportable supply of the state of Táchira. This document constitutes a real map of the entity's potential, designed to facilitate commercial intelligence and optimize the search for international destinations for high-quality areas in Tachira.
In the context of the conference, which also included the participation of the head of the Chamber of Commerce of Arauca de Colombia, Minister Godoy announced that in March the Unified Protocol for Non-Oil Exports will come into force, a legal instrument that simplifies and standardises the operations of exiting Venezuelan products to the world.
As part of the working meeting, Mincoex presented the progress made in the implementation of the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), a project developed in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
After listening to the interventions of local businessmen, the authorities reaffirmed their commitment to give continuity to these technical tables. “We take note of each proposal and stay tuned for future work meetings,” concluded the head of the Foreign Trade portfolio.
