The Sectorial Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty and Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, supervised the training of the Bolivarian Militia in Caracas, as part of the Defense of Costa Independencia 200 Exercises.

From the Waraira Repano, Padrino López praised the commitment of the militiamen and militiamen, who in his opinion have highlighted that they are a strategic weapon to defend national sovereignty.

“We see throughout the national territory the preparation of the Militia and the Community Militia Units (UCM) that are in the process of consolidation,” he added.

In addition, he indicated that with the military exercises being carried out in the country, it has been possible to verify the importance of this component of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

He stressed that the Defense of Costa Independence Exercises 200 serve to protect the national territory from threats, both internal and external, as well as to check drug trafficking routes to contain them.

He stressed that Venezuela has been successful, in the fight against drug trafficking, because there is a State policy. “It's difficult when governments or elites that intend to govern countries govern with drug trafficking, that makes the issue much more complex,” he said.

In that sense, he added that here in Venezuela it is much simpler because there is a unity of national purpose, “we want absolutely nothing with drug trafficking, nor with production, nor with planting, nor with processing, nor with trafficking, nor with distribution.”

Padrino López confirmed that there are no cartels in Venezuela. “They will not pass through here and if they try they will receive the response they are receiving and that is public and notorious in the world,” he said.
