The Minister of Popular Power for Communication, Ernesto Villegas, stated that on April 12, 2002, the sublime character of the People was able to sustain President Hugo Chávez.

At the National Meeting to promote Popular Communication in the face of new realities, the holder of the portfolio for Culture emphasized that the People demonstrated “their loyalty, their conscience and their consequence”.

He stressed that “it has been 22 years of a victorious Venezuela” in the context of what was the first media-business coup against a legally constituted government led by President Hugo Chávez.

He specified that in all this time the right wing “has not been able to get away with it either by those methods or by others that came to lead us into the same ambush”.
