Minister Villegas remembers the repatriation of Grandmother Kueka (+4 years old)

Through the social network X, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, recalled that four years ago the repatriation of Grandmother Kueka, the sacred rock of the Pemón people, was illegally stolen by the German artist and merchant Wolfgang Kraker von Schwarzenfeld in 1998, under the Government of Rafael Caldera.
“Four years ago, #16Abr 2020, #Venezuela completed the repatriation of #AbuelaKueka, the sacred rock of the Pemón people, after two decades of fighting for its return by #Alemania. It was an honor to represent President @NicolasMaduro at that event,” Villegas wrote on the social network.
In this sense, the holder of the culture portfolio that from this Tuesday until April 20, activities will be taking place in Santa Cruz de Mapaurí, an indigenous community in the state of Bolívar, regarding the fourth anniversary of this historic achievement.
“On behalf of the National Executive, the president of the Cultural Heritage Institute, anthropologist Dinora Cruz, and the Chief of Staff of @minculturave in Bolivar, Daniel Guerra. Everyone will pay tribute to the reunion of Grandmother and Grandfather, the other sacred rock of the Pemons of Mapaurí,” he said.
