Ministries of Education and Science and Technology promote the development of educational video games

The Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT), through the National Center for Technology and Information Technology (CNTI) and Telecom Venezuela, held a strategic meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Popular Power for Education and its Directorate of Educational Informatics, with the objective of articulating initiatives to promote the development of educational video games in the country.

During the meeting, led by Carlos Díaz, head of the CNTI Office, the importance of using free tools such as Godot, Python and Blender to promote innovation and creativity in this field was highlighted.

According to a press release from the Science portfolio, the Department of Educational Informatics, under the direction of Prof. Jerson Rubin, presented interactive games designed to integrate educational content, while the Telecom Venezuela team showed a video game prototype about the historical battles of Venezuela, focused on teaching homeland history.

The CNTI proposed the implementation of specialized training methodologies in the development of educational video games, including learning spaces to deepen the use of free tools.

In addition, the distribution of the Canaima GNU/Linux operating system was announced in its version of Scientific Seedbeds, which will facilitate access to these resources and promote a collaborative and technologically advanced environment.

This initiative seeks to integrate efforts to strengthen human talent in the area of educational video games, contributing to the advancement of education and technology in the country.
