Ministry for Tourism inspected progress of tourist works on Margarita Island

The Bolivarian Government is making progress in the recovery and modernization of tourist areas in Nueva Esparta with the supervision of the works of the Simplicio Rodríguez Tourist Walk, in Juan Griego, and the historic Pampatar Pier.

The inspection was led by the Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello, together with authorities from the island territory, who evaluated the development of both projects aimed at strengthening tourism infrastructure and boosting the regional economy.

“Margarita keeps growing. Seeing it full of people, projects and new opportunities confirms that tourism is a fundamental part of the rebirth of Venezuela,” said Cabello.

The Simplicio Rodríguez Tourist Walk includes the intervention of 1.8 kilometers of road and coastline, with the addition of bike paths, roads, parking and landscaping areas for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.

For its part, work is being carried out at the Pampatar Pier to adapt platforms and common areas, with the purpose of recovering this space of historical value and, in turn, contributing to the strengthening of local commerce.

The deployment involved the participation of the governor of Nueva Esparta, Marisel Velázquez, and the mayor of the Marcano municipality, Yul Armas, as part of the coordination between the different levels of Government to consolidate Margarita as a sustainable tourist destination.
