Ministry of Ecosocialism begins recovery at the Laguna de Urao Natural Monument in Mérida

The Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), working together with the government of Mérida and the popular power, began a process of debates to relaunch protection and recovery actions in the Laguna de Urao Natural Monument.

According to a regional press release, the objective of the debates through a technical panel is “to carry out immediate actions in the face of the critical situation affecting the water mirror of the Laguna de Urao Natural Monument”.

The participants agreed to clean and recanalize springs that pass through the Finca Los Cocos property; continuation of corrective works on the wastewater network and activation of a work agenda, with ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
