Ministry of Ecosocialism held the first National Meeting for the Conservation of Sea Turtles

This weekend, the first National Sea Turtle Conservation Meeting was held on Margarita Island, Nueva Esparta state. More than 180 turtles and turtles from all regions of the country attended the event.
The information was provided by the Minister for Ecosocialism, Josue Lorca, who stressed that the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, “continues to support the great efforts we are making to share experiences, projects and programs in favor of the conservation of our sea turtles.”
Lorca explained that Venezuela is home to five of the seven species of sea turtles that exist in the world, which choose the Venezuelan coasts and islands for spawning.
Among the agreed agreements is the recovery of two fundamental spaces: the Cuare Wildlife Refuge Biological Station and the Laguna de Tacarigua National Park Biological Station, and also the construction of the Macuro ranger post in Sucre state.
