Ministry of Ecosocialism strengthens waste collection in Sucre

The Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), in conjunction with the government of Sucre state and the mayors of the municipalities of Sucre and Cruz Salmerón Acosta, announced the addition of five new compactor trucks to optimize the collection and final disposal of solid waste in the entity.

The provision of equipment has been planned with technical and territorial criteria to meet environmental and community priorities. The distribution corresponded to: a compactor for the Ayacucho parish, intended for the permanent sanitation of the environment of the Mochima National Park, which will contribute to the preservation of this protected natural area of high ecological and tourist value, details a press release from the ministerial portfolio.

In addition, a unit was transferred to the Cruz Salmerón Acosta municipality, to expand collection coverage in coastal areas and communities that are difficult to access, improve the quality of life of its inhabitants and reduce the accumulation of waste on beaches and mangroves.

Finally, three additional compactors for other sectors of the Sucre state, which will reinforce operational capacity in urban and rural areas with greater demand for the service, ensuring a more efficient, frequent and sustainable management of solid waste.
