Ministry of Health develops plan for the prevention and control of dengue fever in Guárico

Within the framework of the National Comprehensive Plan against Dengue, led by the Ministry of Popular Power for Health and with support from the regional government, 600 inhabitants were immunized and 250 homes in rural and vulnerable communities in the Easter Valley, in the state of Guárico, were fumigated.
A press release from the regional government reports that, through a multidisciplinary team of the National Public Health System (SPNS) in the region, the deployment was carried out in the Apamate, El Caro and El Bostero sectors, where a comprehensive house-to-house visit, immunization, intradomiciliary fumigation, abatement and deworming of children and adolescents was carried out. At the same time, the staff eliminated micro-breeding grounds for the mosquito known as “white feet”, in addition to searching for possible cases of hemorrhagic jaundice and vaccine-preventable diseases.During the operation, the director of Environmental Health in Guárico, Darvic Perdomo, alerted the population to the importance of notifying epidemiology agencies in a timely manner in case of positive cases.
